Story of Mendez Landscaping Development Corp.
From the owner, Edgar Rolando Mendez:
Thanks to God, I started this entrepreneurial journey in 2009 at the age of 19. Back then, it was just me riding around town with a lawnmower and a weed eater in the trunk of my Buick LeSabre, knocking on potential client’s doors to see who wanted their grass cut. I was taking on any job I could to help customers and build a future. Over time, I was able to upgrade to a box truck around 2011, then an F‑150 with a trailer, and I began taking on more gardening and landscaping work.
In 2016, I incorporated the business as Mendez Landscaping Development Corp., and that same year I realized how serious the flooding issues were in our region. I dedicated myself to learning stormwater management and finding real solutions for homeowners and commercial properties. Since then, we’ve specialized in drainage systems and stormwater protection, while still creating beautiful landscapes after the systems are installed. It has always been important to me that our work not only protects your home but makes your yard look better than before. As demand grew, I brought on subcontractors and small crews to work alongside the company.
In 2024, I searched for help. I want to see what resources are available to help my business grow. I joined an Accelerator program from ‘Propeller’ based in New Orleans. I was introduced to many resources and great people. Today, Stormova holds a Landscape Horticulturist License from ldaf.la.gov, National Certified Stormwater Manager (CSM) from EnviroCert International, and National Green Infrastructure Certification (NGICP) from EnviroCert International. By 2025-2026, I decided to rebrand the business. I wanted the business to have a short unique name, a name that represents the company very well, a trustworthy name. Stormova LLC was born, the storm is over! Furthermore, I am looking forward to a fun amazing future solving flooding problems with Stormova team. All Glory to God.
